We are throwing up some updates throughout all of March, if you have any trouble viewing the site, let us know!
We have a lot of plans for the site for the new year. And we’re gonna keep everyone updated on what’s going on behind the scenes. OffTheTrax isn’t even a month old, but we’ve been getting a lot of love. Like we expected there’s a few things that need ironed out, + some new features we are going to add. Here’s what’s cookin’ in the OTT oven.
Music Streaming
The whole streaming system is going to change. When you’re browsing the homepage or looking at search results or archives, each post will have a play button next to it’s title. When you click, the song in the post will play at the bottom of the page. From there you can keep browsing any section of the site and the song will play until it’s over or until you click play on a different post. There will still be a link for whatever song you’re playing next to the player, so if you like what you’re hearing you can go straight to that song’s post in a new window, and then go to the blog that posted it.
My Trax
We’ve gotten a lot of good feedback on the Traxing system. So we’re gonna continue to improve that. First on deck is for your Trax’s to be available to stream whenever you’re on your My Trax page, right now it’s just a list. You’ll also be able to see who else is Traxed a song that you did.
Mixtapes & Video
We’re probably adding separate sections on the site for mixtapes and videos. You might see a couple of mixtapes leaking thru onto the homepage now, but for the most part we’re trying to catalog only single tracks. Videos are a whole ‘nother beast, so you’ll probably see Mixtapes being listed before you will Videos.
Mobile
We’re going to set up a Mobile version of the site. We weren’t planning on doing this, since most phones can’t play Flash, which means you can’t stream songs. But, say you’re on the go, and you want to keep up with the day’s new music. You can visit the OffTheTrax, see the new songs, sign in, and Trax the songs that you think you’re gonna want to check later when you get back to your computer. Everything will be saved to your account so it’ll be there when you want it. Unless you have an iPhone, our site isn’t really built to work too well on a phone, so we’re making the mobile site compatible with most phones.

There’s some questions and answers here, especially for the bloggers.
If you guys have other features or ideas or even complaints, we wanna hear em.
